In November of 2016, the Shiloh District began working toward building a meetinghouse for public worship that was completed in November of 2019. On the morning of June 19, 2021, the building was destroyed by fire started by a lightning strike from thunderstorms the previous evening. The outpouring of care and love from the church and community has blessed our district in ways we cannot describe. After several buildings were made available for our use during our rebuilding effort the church agreed to accept an offer from the Painter Creek
District and will begin meeting there in public worship the morning of July 11
at 10 am. Regular worship meetings will be held every other Sunday morning beginning from that date. While insurance can mostly bear the cost of
the financial loss, the hours of time and emotional investment must be
surrendered to God. Many decisions and responsibilities again face our district, but we trust the unity of the Spirit so evident among us will continue to guide our efforts as we together seek the direction of the Lord. Future updates and needs will be made known as they arise. Meanwhile, the words of a hymn come to mind- “Let us pray for each other, not faint by the way…”
