BCF - Comforter Center

Sunday, January 17th 2016 6:52 AM

Come visit the COMFORT CENTER —- a great place to serve and socialize!  It’s user friendly and child friendly.

THE NEED INDEED IS GREAT!! CAM has announced the goal of collecting 100,000 comforters in 2016 in response to the destitute conditions of which they are aware. The Comfort Center presently has 78 comforter tops ready to assemble, knot, and edge-bind so they can be shipped out. We are blessed to have a freshly re-organized facility in which to generate MUCH good for our fellow men. Will you be willing to lend your heart and hands for this worthy cause?

There is an important spot to fill for ALL of us, not just skilled seamstresses. Women, couples, families, and young folks can find fulfilling work here. The list of opportunities is the following:

 Sorting fabric for block cutting

 Block cutting

 Counting blocks for comforter kits

 Sorting blocks into proper weight and color categories

 Block layout for immediate use or bagging for later

 Stitching comforter tops

 Piecing together material for comforter backs

 Assembling the comfort for knotting

 Knotting the comforter

 Binding the comforter edges

The regular scheduled Comfort Days are Tues. and Thurs. all through the year. The Center will also be open the first Wed. of every month to which you are welcome. If you choose to bring a group on any other day or evening, that can be arranged. Please contact Rita Turner at (937) 564-7318 for your name to be placed on the calendar.

Come use your gifts at this service center, then leave a note in the suggestion box with ideas for improvement! :)

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the LORD and not unto men; knowing that of the LORD ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the LORD CHRIST… Col. 3:23-24
